Sawmill residue is roughly 46% of every log, and FAO flags slabs, edgings and sawdust as raw material, not waste. A 45 kW drum wood chip making machine at the mill gate turns that stream into uniform 30 to 35 mm chips for pellet, particleboard, MDF and biomass buyers without the 110 kW turnkey capex.
