Charcoal Briquette Production Starts with a Moisture Window

Sawdust Dryer for Charcoal Briquette Production: Replace Natural Sun Drying with Stable 8–12% Moisture. Dryr is a rotary sawdust dryer for charcoal briquette plants that need a more controllable feed before pressing. Continuous hot air drying, temperature monitoring, and lifting flights help target discharge moisture below 10%, with a process option below 7% when confirmed by material testing, so high-moisture sawdust can be brought into the 8–12% briquette process window.

Why Natural Sun Drying Leaves the Feedstock Unstable

Natural sun drying and manual open-air drying depend on sunshine, pile thickness, turning frequency, and operator judgement. A wet center can remain after the surface looks dry, while a long drying cycle leaves high-moisture sawdust exposed to mold or fermentation. A small airflow dryer or sawdust flash dryer may suit fine, low-moisture feedstock, but it is not automatically the right match for variable wood sawdust or larger loads. A rotary sawdust dryer provides continuous hot air drying and controlled residence through a rotating drum instead of a weather-dependent batch routine.

What the Dryr Rotary Drum Dryer Shows in the Equipment

The Dryr drying chamber image shows staggered metal lifting flights, welded mounting plates, and bolted hubs inside the drum. As the drum rotates, these flights lift and spread sawdust so hot air can contact more of the material and support even heating. Temperature sensors monitor the drying process, while the rotating drum carries the material forward continuously. The system image shows an industrial rotary drum dryer connected to process ducting, twin cyclone separators, and a conical dust collection hopper. These images document the visible structure and system layout; they do not replace a project test. Dryr is available in four capacity ranges: H-1010 with a 1000 mm drum for 0.8–1 t/h, H-1212 with a 1200 mm drum for 1–1.2 t/h, H-1512 with a 1500 mm drum for 1.2–1.5 t/h, and H-1815 with an 1800 mm drum for 1.5–2 t/h. The target discharge moisture is below 10%, and the process can be adjusted below 7% when required by the material and confirmed during commissioning.

The Result: A Controllable Feed for Briquette Pressing

With continuous sawdust drying instead of natural sun drying, a charcoal briquette line can target a stable 8–12% moisture window before pressing. That reduces the risk of loose forming caused by excess moisture and helps avoid the low-moisture condition that can weaken binding. Dryr combines a hot air furnace, rotary drum, material conveying, and dust-control options such as a cyclone or baghouse, subject to project requirements. Model selection should be based on initial moisture, particle size, required capacity, fuel, and site conditions rather than drum diameter alone.
