DRYR | INDUSTRIAL SAWDUST DRYING FOR MDF AND PARTICLEBOARD
Moisture Variation Becomes a Hot Press Defect
For MDF and particleboard producers, furnish moisture is a process variable, not a finishing detail. A Dryr rotary sawdust dryer helps move variable-moisture pine or eucalyptus residues toward a defined process range before resin application and hot pressing, replacing open-air judgement with monitored, continuous sawdust drying.

Why Open Air Drying Does Not Hold the Process Window
Natural sun drying and manual open-air drying depend on weather, floor space, layer thickness, and operator judgement. They are difficult to keep continuous when incoming wood fiber changes from one batch to the next. A small airflow dryer or an underspecified sawdust flash dryer may suit a narrow feed condition, but the comparison should include residence time, furnish handling, heat exchange, and dust control rather than only the initial equipment price. For a wood panel line, unstable pre-drying can become unstable glue bonding, pressing interruptions, and material degradation before the next process.
Why a Rotary Sawdust Dryer Fits Wood Furnish
Dryr is configured as a rotary drum dryer for continuous hot air drying of sawdust, wood chips, and wood shavings, including furnish used for MDF and particleboard. The rotating drum exposes the material repeatedly to the heated air stream, while temperature sensing gives the operator a process signal instead of relying only on touch or visual judgement. A combination of lifting plates turns and disperses the furnish through the drum so heat transfer is more even across the moving material. This makes the rotary sawdust dryer a practical fit where a stable feed condition is needed for resin application and hot pressing.

From Drum Structure to Controlled Panel Production
The Dryr gallery shows the complete industrial arrangement: a white cylindrical drum on blue supports with a feed hopper and roller supports, plus an interior view with staggered metal lifting plates. The product traffic specification covers 0.8–2 t/h configurations and drum diameters of 1000, 1200, 1500, and 1800 mm; final selection depends on furnish type, initial moisture, target moisture, and heat source. The system can be paired with a hot air furnace, screw conveyor, cyclone dust collector or baghouse filter, and PLC control. With the drying target confirmed during commissioning, continuous moisture reduction can give the downstream MDF or particleboard line a more consistent furnish for glue bonding and pressing.
