Sawdust Dryer for Inland Kenya: Split Shipment and On-Site Assembly for Continuous Drying

DRYR | SAWDUST DRYER FOR INLAND PLANTS

Why Inland Kenya Projects Need More Than a Shipped Machine

For an inland biomass plant near Mai Mahiu, the difficult part of buying a sawdust dryer is often not the drying process. It is moving an oversized rotary drum to a remote site and finding the people to assemble and commission it. Dryr uses split shipment for long drum sections, followed by on-site assembly and commissioning, so a 17–18 m rotary sawdust dryer can be delivered as a system that the plant can actually put into operation.

The Limits of Open-Air and Small-Scale Drying

Natural sun drying and manual open-air drying are difficult to control during changing weather and do not provide continuous sawdust drying. A small airflow dryer may reduce the initial equipment size, but it is not automatically the right fit when a pellet production line, molded pallet production line, or other biomass process needs steady material flow and controlled moisture reduction. High-moisture sawdust can ferment or develop mold before pelletizing, while unstable moisture can affect molding and MDI or UF glue bonding.

A Split-Ship Rotary Drum Dryer That Fits the Project

Dryr is a rotary sawdust dryer designed around both process duty and site delivery. Its assembled structure allows the oversized drum to be split for shipment rather than forcing an entire 17–18 m body into one container. At the destination, the drum sections, supports, drive, hot air furnace, conveying components, and dust control connections can be reassembled and commissioned on site. The compact layout is specified to reduce footprint by 50% and foundation investment by 50%, helping an inland project control both logistics and civil works before production begins.

From Difficult Delivery to a Working Drying Line

The product evidence is visible in the drum assembly and support arrangement: segmented cylindrical sections, roller supports, drive components, process ducting, cyclone separation, blower, and control equipment form a complete industrial drying system rather than an isolated vessel. Dryr configurations cover 0.8–2 t/h, with 1 ton per hour and 2 tph sawdust dryer options for biomass pellet plants and related lines. With PLC-based continuous operation, lifting plates for material turnover, and cyclone or baghouse dust control, the system is built to move sawdust toward a stable target such as output moisture below 10%, improving pelletizing or molding efficiency and reducing manual intervention. On-site installation and commissioning turns the delivery plan into an operating plan. Contact EMP to discuss the route, fuel, material moisture, capacity, and assembly requirements for your plant.
